Xavier PrendergastWHSEQ Consultant

With over 10 years’ experience in incident response and emergency management, Xavier brings extensive knowledge in the fields of risk management, hazard identification, quality control continuous improvement.

Xavier has achieved excellent results in the fields of incident investigation, Workcover claims, return to work plans, training and assessing, and policy and procedure development that is site specific and tailored to the needs of the organisation.

Xavier’s previous roles include that of a Multi-Purpose K9 Handler, Team Leader and Instructor for the Corrections Victoria Prison Dog Squad, and as the Risk and Compliance Manager for Saint Ignatius College Geelong.  These diverse experiences have equipped Xavier with a pragmatic “safety first” mindset and the understanding and ability to practically interpret and apply relevant systems, legislation, compliance, and education across a broad and complex field of industries.

Ian has worked in the Lifting, Height Safety, Overhead Crane Industry and Safety industry for 30 years in various positions. Ian operated his own business for 15 years in Lifting & testing equipment with his last position being the General Manager for a major overhead crane servicing company.

Ian is an accomplished Trainer in certified course’s as listed and a consultant in the above industries and has consulted to companies such as Wesfarmers industrial division, Downer, Bombardier Rail, One Steel, National Pacific, Maxitrans and many more.

Ian has worked with companies to help them create WHSEQ management plans, Risk assessments, Policies and Procedures in WHSEQ.
